Civic EngagementThe Positive Minds "The Generation Flow" project will take on the challenge to fight "period poverty". Period poverty is defined as girls being unable to access the necessary supplies and information needed to protect themselves during their monthly periods. Although period poverty is something that is usually associated as an international crisis, it is a very real crisis in the US. In addition, research shows that girls' self confidence tends to decrease at the onset of their menstruations. We would like to provide-confidence building activities throughout the year including period kits for all registered participants, books, and guest speakers. We hope all of our activities will culminate on June 11th (in observance to National Menstrual Hygiene Day).
