Who we are:

The Positive Minds Project was established in 2021 through a grant awarded by the Girls Build LA Promise Found. Our goal is to empower student to create awareness around different topics related to their overall well-being.  Currently, we are concluding our second project-- The Positive Minds "The Generation Flo" Project.

The Positive Minds Project 2021

Our first project (2021) was A Virtual Mental Health Message Wellness Fair. Our goal was to promote awareness, offer resources, information, and to destigmatize mental health, by focusing on the body, self-esteem and education. The event was opened to other students, community members, and other classmates from surrounding schools and cities.

We are completing our second project (2022), The Generation Flo. This year we decided to take on the challenge to fight "period poverty." Our goal was to provide-confidence to women and people who menstruate by hosting various activities such as mensuration workshops, having guest speakers, and building period kits. We hope to culminate our project by distributing the period kits to the communities on May 28th (National Menstrual Hygiene Day).
